Training & Development Specialist (Islandia, NY) to assess training needs through surveys and interviews with employees and through consultation with departmental managers. Design, organize and direct orientation and training programs for employees. Offer specific training programs to help employees maintain or improve job skills. Organize training procedure and corporate standards manuals and guides such as handouts or visual materials. Monitor, record and evaluate training activities and program effectiveness. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen. Evaluate modes of training delivery to optimize training effectiveness and training costs. Keep up with developments in area of expertise by reading current journals and books. Attend meetings to obtain information for use in training programs and to inform management of training program status. Monitor training costs and prepare budget reports. Devise programs to develop executive potential among employees in lower-level positions. Report to, and work under the directions of the General Manager of the hotel in carrying out assigned tasks. Require Bachelors degree & 6 months experience.
